Privacy

We are not interested in your personal information. We do hope that you’ll share feedback and bug reports with us though.

Privacy is one of inksprite’s core features. You don’t need an account to use inksprite, since it runs locally in your browser. Your stories and other data are stored locally, which means that we can’t access them.

The only information we collect is page views via Vercel’s web analytics, simply because we want to know how many people are using the app. The feature seems to be blocked by most ad-blockers, so feel free to use one if it concerns you.

Caveats

AI Features

If you use inksprite’s AI tools, requests will go directly from your browser to your provider. Since we don’t act as a proxy, these requests will be associated with your account and billing information.

Practically, this means that you might get banned from a service like OpenAI if your work is particularly spicy. For this reason, we suggest using a service like OpenRouter. You can also run your own model locally if you have suitable hardware.

Browser Storage

Your data is stored locally in your browser, which means that we have no access to it. There is still a small risk that a malicious browser extension or script could access your data.

Legal Stuff

inksprite is provided as-is with no guarantees. You are solely responsible for backing up your stories and securing your device.

We make no promises that inksprite will be free of bugs or security vulnerabilities. While we take care to avoid them, we are not liable for any data exposure, loss, or damage resulting from software bugs, security issues, or other unintended behavior.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the inksprite beta service (the “Service”). In these Terms, ‘we,’ ‘us,’ and ‘our’ refer to inksprite and its creators, and ‘you’ refers to the individual using the Service.

By accessing or using inksprite, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Beta Service

inksprite is currently offered as a free beta, which means it may (will) contain bugs, experience outages, or undergo rapid changes without notice. We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time, temporarily or permanently, without prior notice.

No Warranty

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We specifically disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We make no guarantees about:

The reliability, availability, or performance of the Service,

The accuracy or security of any content generated or stored,

The preservation of your data.

You use inksprite at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, inksprite and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

Data loss,

Downtime or service interruptions,

Lost profits or opportunities,

Damage to devices or systems.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to zero dollars ($0.00).

User Responsibility

You are responsible for:

Backing up any content or data you create or store using inksprite.

Complying with all applicable laws while using the Service.

Not misusing the Service in ways that could harm others, disrupt the system, or violate intellectual property.

Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of any original content you create using inksprite. Since your stories are stored locally in your browser, we do not access, host, or process your content, except where explicitly necessary to operate optional cloud or AI features you choose to use.

All rights to the inksprite platform, design, branding, and code remain the property of its creators.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of inksprite means you accept the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

The Service is not intended for use in jurisdictions where these Terms or the use of the Service would be contrary to local law or regulation.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and inksprite regarding your use of the Service.
